As Your Photographer 

You’ll be greeted with an enthusiastic, friendly welcome — and that energy carries through the whole session! My top priority is making sure you feel comfortable and have FUN.

I guide you with natural, movement-based posing so you’ll never feel awkward in front of the camera. I’ll handle all the little details (hair, jewelry, where to look) while keeping the session relaxed, upbeat, and full of laughter.

When you’re having fun and feeling like yourself, it shows in your photos. I focus on creating a genuine connection so you feel confident, comfortable, and truly you. The Alli Jo approach is all about joyful energy, real smiles, and a session experience you’ll remember with a smile.

  • I’m Alli — the energetic photo gal behind Alli Jo Photo, specializing in creative portrait photography in Central MI.

    I’m a 26-year-old small-town girl from Alma, MI, where I grew up and graduated from Alma High School in 2017. After high school I attended CMU while working multiple jobs and building my photography business. During my junior year, I decided to leave college and pursue photography full-time — and it’s been the best decision ever.We believe in keeping things simple, smart, and human. Every project starts with listening and ends with something we're proud to share.

  • My family means everything to me. I’m the oldest of four, and we grew up on a small hobby farm just outside of town. Summers were spent camping, especially our favorite trips to Pentwater for the 4th of July and Lake Superior in August.

    In July 2024, I married the love of my life, Zack, at our home. We had a laid-back backyard wedding with homegrown flowers, veggies from our garden, and meat from my parents’ farm. We bought our 40-acre homestead in 2023 and have been remodeling it ourselves, building a garden, greenhouse, and flower spaces for photos.

    Zack has been my biggest supporter — even helping build my 16×20 indoor studio back in 2019. These days we love spending time in the garden, on the lake, walking our property, and hanging out with our five very loved dogs.

I am a Photogragher Today because of my Mom

Since I was young, my mom was always the one behind the camera. She photographed our lives year-round and made photo albums for each of us from ages 1–10, capturing both big moments and the small, meaningful ones. When she wanted us to look at the camera, we’d hear the long “cheeeeseee” — our signal to smile.

She’s known as the photo lady to our friends and family, always organizing big family photos and making sure everyone — including herself — was in them. Watching her document life so thoughtfully inspired my love for photography.

Because of her, photography has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve seen how powerful photos are when revisiting memories, and it’s what drives my passion today. My mom has been taking photos for decades, and she continues to inspire me. We now take photo trips around Michigan together, and she will always be my biggest supporter.
